Changes to Soil Relocation in British Columbia, March 2023 Final Policy Update
Watch the final webinar summary to learn what has changed from the last webinar and how it could affect your business.
Watch the Summary Here
The Stage 14 Amendments of the Contaminated Site Regulation took effect on March 1st. This includes the newly released Protocol 19 which lays out the requirements for how assessments of uncontaminated soil will be conducted within the context of the new Soil Relocation provisions included with the Stage 14 Amendments.
These new regulations will make moving soil from a wide variety of sites more difficult and costly, potentially disrupting excavation schedules and logistics.
We invited Travis Deeter, P.Ag., CSAP, Associate and Senior Environmental Scientist with Thurber Engineering, to share his insights on the topic.
Points covered include:
- Final Soil Relocation Process
- Protocol 19 - Assessment
- High Volume Receiving Sites
- Anticipated Challenges
- What are Schedule 2 activities.
- Q & A Session
